YYCMTB Coaches

To learn mountain bike skills, you need good mountain bike skills coaches. YYCMTB has three excellent instructors to help you learn to ride better.

All of our coaches have extensive experience and knowledge of mountain biking. They all have at least a PMBIA Level 1 or equivalent, and at least a 50-hour wilderness first aid certification or similar.

After racing downhill in AB & BC Cups in University, Stephanie discovered the world of freeriding in the concrete jungles of Edmonton and Calgary, which led to her interest in dirt jumping and slopestyle. She immersed herself in her riding and was soon competing against the otherwise all-male fields at Red Bull Freezeride, Crankworx Slopestyle, and numerous other dirt jump events.

Mike loves a good time, and is pretty much up for any kind of dirt riding. If you want to go downhill fast in the mountains, he’s your guy. Having cut his teeth on the unforgiving slopes of Kickinghorse, he’s also spent lots of time in Whistler, Silverstar and Moose Mountain. Mike is a Banshee Bikes ambassador.

If it has two wheels,David has been on it. Road, track, fat, DH, AM, XC – you name it, he’s probably done it. His coaching style is mellow, heavy on patience, enthusiasm and encouragement. With a degree in biomechanics, NCCP certificates and even a few years of racing, there’s not much that he can’t help you with. David is a Banshee Bikes ambassador.
