YYCMTB is hosting some group rides for this weekend’s super-fantastic Plaid Goat Mountain Bike Fest! ALL RIDES ARE ONLY FOR FEST ATTENDEES AND ARE FREE. All participants will need to sign a waiver to join the ride. We have 4 rides on the schedule:
Friday, June 23rd – 3:00-5:00 p.m.: Ride from the Fest site to Canmore Nordic Centre, go for a rip and then ride back. Mix of trails, mostly blues, a green or two, could squeeze in the Coal Chutes too! Should take around 2 hours, but shizzle happens… It’s CNC, so there will be climbs. Make sure you bring water, snacks, tools, etc.
Saturday, June 24 – 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Prospector! Depart the rive out to Exshaw where the trail is, ride, and then drive back. Prospector is a black diamond trail, with lots of technical features, but pretty much everything has a ride-around. The trail starts with a climb. Make sure you bring water, snacks, tools, etc.
Saturday, June 24 – 3:00-5:00 p.m.: Intro to Jumps and Drops at the Canmore Nordic Centre skills park. If you are having trouble getting your wheels off the ground, check this out. If you’re already throwing tables and whips, you won’t get much out of it.
Sunday, June 25 – 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Mellow loop in the Montane. This one will probably go past 2 hours, but it depends on how late everyone got home Saturday night after leaving the Craft Beer Hub. Ride from the Fest in Canmore, do the loop, ride back. The ride definitely has a few climbs. Terrain is a mix of blue and green trails. Make sure you bring water, snacks, tools, etc.FREE GROUP RIDE SIGNUP
